Your customers will expect you to have a web site to research their buying decisions.

Your web site will meet the needs of your customers. It will answer their questions.
Before they come to you for help, they will go to your web site for answers.

It's a great way to communicate to existing and potential customers day and night.
Your location, directions, hours, and other details about products/company can be made available.
A web site will support your traditional advertising by adding to it.
Why not collect your customers e-mail addresses and keep in touch with them about special offers.
Many people do not like to shop in stores. They are afraid of long walks, pressure from sales people.
When they discover online shopping they will never go back to the stores unless absolutely necessary.

General Questions

How much will it cost?
We have some standard packages that you might be interested in.
The prices quoted on our price page are for using one of our adaptable templates or using a basic design of your choice.
For more complex designs we can give you a quote which would take into account the size of the site, how much technical work is required, and if there are any special requirements.
Tell us what your needs are, and, based on that, we will submit a proposal to you. Please read our terms & conditions and if you wish to proceed a small deposit is required. Then, you submit to us all text, pictures, and other content that will be applied to your web site and any marketing materials that are to be used as a guide for the web site's design. We then work on the design and layout. We generally upload work in progress to a private area of web site where you'll be able to see it take shape and have us make any adjustments and refinements that may be necessary.
Payment can be made by cheque.
The price you see is the price you pay. No VAT
The only ongoing cost will alterations and amendments and future hosting fees of £5.99/month or £60/year

What do I get for my money?
We aim to give all of our clients a 'value for money' website.
Our packages include the following as standard:-

Do you offer any type of discounts?
Yes, we offer a 10% discounts for non profit organizations.

Do I need to send a deposit for the work?
Yes we generally ask for a 10% deposit (minimum £30.00 from clients).
This includes any up front fees we have to pay on your behalf..

How long does it take to have a web site designed?
This is determined by the size and complexity of your site, and how busy we are.
We can tell you when we can start and how long a basic site should take.
Using our templates has a base, we should have something to show you within 7 working days of starting work.

How much information can I have online? Do Web sites have a size limit?
Web sites can be as small as a single page or as large as is needed. There are sites on the Internet that have thousands of pages.
We concentrate on small to medium size sites that have an average number of hits per month.
If your site is going to attract thousands of visitors a day then we would consider extra charges.
You would be given notice if this was the case.

Can I start small and then expand my web site later?
Yes - A web site can be begin as a one page advertisement, and gradually expand.

I would like you to design my site, what do I need to do now?
All you need to do is inform us of the domain name you would like to use and send us a brief idea of your requirements. We will then purchase the domain in your name, and then based on your guidance, design an initial web page for you. This can be refined/changed in consultation with you. We will then need you to forward content and images for your site and start to design the website for you.

What would help for the design ?
Your input, ideas, brochures, logos, text etc.

Will I need to buy the domain name and hosting myself?
No, we can do everything for you, including the registration of a domain name.
The domain is registered to you for either one/two years - see the prices page.
If you already have a domain you can link/transfer it to us.
If you do not require us to host the site we can upload (ftp) it to a host of your choice.
We can even put the code and optimised images on a cd for you.

Will we need to have a meeting?
Not in the majority of cases. Most sites are generally completed with contact via email and telephone only.

How is a site kept up to date?
Any slight tweaks or amendments are carried out to the site free of charge in the first 2 weeks. Any support thereafter will be charged at an hourly rate of £25 or by fixed quote. Ask us about our regular update service.

Technical Questions

What is a domain name?
A domain name is a specific web site address also known as a Uniform Resource Locators (URL)
You rent the name, usually for one/two years.
We register different domain names including .co.uk .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info & .name
If you take advantage of our package deal the domain is included for one year

What is web hosting?
Once your web site has been built it needs to reside on a computer that maintains a constant connection to the Internet. This computer a called a server.
The function of holding the web sites information and making it accessible to Internet visitors is called Hosting. We can provide web hosting for our clients.

What is site maintenance?
Maintenance is a fee paid monthly to keep your site updated with new content that you provide. Most good web sites have content updated regularly.

Web Site Content - What Do I Put On My Site?
That would depend on the goals of your web site.
If you want a business website you would include as much information about your products or services

that your customers would need to purchase from you.
If you look at similar sites of your competitor it will give you an idea what is required.

What types of graphic files do you accept?
We can accept any graphics file format created on a PC or an Apple Mac.
Our preferred formats are Photoshop files or tiffs
but JPEGs and GIFs are acceptable as long as they are good quality. We can also work with good quality

photographs, which can be scanned to create graphic files.
If you are local, we can meet with you and get everything we need. If you aren't local, it's no problem, as you can always e-mail graphics files to us or mail photographs

What is optimisation?
All web pages should be 'optimised'. This will enable your site to gain a high search engine ranking, it revolves around the meta tags on your web pages, a web page that isn't optimised won't appear in the search engines to any great degree.

What is ftp?
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is the transferring of files to the web server. .

How can I promote my web site ?
Tell all your customers and suppliers about it.
Use the www. address in all literature and stationery and promote the use of E-Mail.
We submit the sites we design to the main search engines including Google, Yahoo! and DMOZ.

What are search engines?
Search engines are web sites where you can type in words and
phrases called "key words" to help you find what you're looking for on the
Internet. It's therefore important to be indexed on the major search engines.
